Roberta F. Benjamin graduated from Radcliffe College and Harvard Law School. For over 25 years, she was a partner in the law firm of Benjamin & Benson in Cambridge, MA, specializing in family law, often serving, by appointment of the Court, as a Guardian ad Litem or attorney for minor children. She wrote and taught extensively in the area of family law, primarily for the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education programs, until her semi-retirement in 2011. She at present serves as a consultant to the law firm of Foley & MacAdie, P.C. in Concord, MA in complex litigation.
She has served as Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Family Law Committee, and as President of the Massachusetts Chapters of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Probate and Family Inns of Court. She was been consistently named as one of the Best Lawyers In America (Naifeh & Smith) and was the 2009 recipient of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Haskell Freedman Award for Professional Excellence, as well as being named by the Boston Globe as Family Lawyer of the Year in 2010.
