Kathleen Ann Foley

FOUNDER

J.D. | SUFFOLK UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL | 1978
B.A. | UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT | 1974

For more than thirty five years, Kathleen Ann Foley has dedicated and distinguished herself by providing clients excellence in advocacy on all matters of domestic relations law. Her compassion for the individual challenges clients face is well tempered with an assertive approach that is uniquely tailored to achieve the results clients expect.

Kathleen began her practice as The Law Offices of Kathleen Ann Foley in 1982 with a vision that has consistently been focused on empowering clients by conquering the obstacles they face and providing them with the broadest and best range of choices and solutions for their future paths. Prior to starting her practice, Kathleen worked as in-house counsel concentrating on corporate law and mergers and acquisitions for EG&G, Inc., a national defense contractor and provider of management and technical services.

Kathleen graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 1978 and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1978.

Committed to providing ongoing education and support to colleagues in the area of domestic relations law, Kathleen was on the faculty of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Family Law Trial Advocacy Workshop for over a decade. She was also a guest lecturer at Family Law classes at Boston College Law School and Suffolk University Law School.

Since its inception in 2002, Kathleen has been a member of Senior Partners For Justice, a pro bono project founded by Hon. Edward M. Ginsburg after his retirement as an Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court.

Kathleen is now a certified family law mediator and is building her mediation practice. She believes that it is important for parties involved in family law matters to think about the advantages of using the mediation process to come to an agreement, as it usually less expensive, quicker and  more satisfactory to work though issues to resolution rather than have a court impose one.

In her office, you will be provided a safe, comfortable place to talk about your concerns and points of view, where each person has the absolute right to call a “Time Out” if he/she feels that it is needed. Especially when the parties have children, it is her hope that by participating in the mediation process, you will be able to find a new, more peaceful way to communicate as you will always be parents, even though you will no longer be married or living together. Please call for to discuss whether mediation might be helpful to you and your family.

Each of our attorneys are also certified in providing limited assistance representation, which is a type of representation that allows a client to hire our firm for one or more specific tasks instead of retaining our office to represent them globally in a matter. For instance, many clients will hire us to simply draft a Separation Agreement, represent them in an upcoming hearing, or simply provide legal advice while they attend mediation. The possibilities are endless, where this method of representation allows a client to get the advice and assistance they need without breaking the bank. If you’d like to learn more about limited assistance representation, please visit our blog post on the topic.
